Ruger 10/22 magazines
How long do these normally last?
|
Re: Ruger 10/22 magazines
I grew up using my Dad's(70's) and have one of my own and I've never seen one fail or wear out. I would think they are good for 5-10 thousand rounds as long as your talking about the Ruger origionals. I did have a 50 round that is long gone.

Re: Ruger 10/22 magazines
:rolleyes_m: I also have 2 Ruger 10/22s...both stainless.
The Ramline 30 round mags are flawless...a couple thousand rounds and never a failure or a jam. 4X scope on both...pretty deadly out to about 80 yards...1" groups using CCI Stingers...I got lucky and got two good ones I guess. Factory mags ? Never used mine...got em' in a drawer somewhere...probably good for 4000-5000 rounds easily. Aftermarket kits and mods for the Ruger 10/22s dominate the .22 caliber firearm market...nothing comes close. The best supported brand out there...I love mine. :D:D:D |

Re: Ruger 10/22 magazines
I picked up 2 25 round Butler Creek magazines for my 10-22. Plastic and clear. Good question to ask how long they will last.

Re: Ruger 10/22 magazines
I had a factory ruger 10-22 mag with a weak spring, causing jams...maybe less than 1000 rounds through the gun...fixable...Wolff gunsprings makes a heavier spring for it...fairly easy to replace.
Recommend 4-5 factory mags for each 10-22 rifle...they work pretty crappy without 'em. :thumpdown |

Re: Ruger 10/22 magazines
SilverCity,
You can take the 10rd factory mags apart and wind the spring one or two wraps tighter. If you need anything else for your 10/22 an aftermarket bolt stop and magazine release are worth installing. Volquartsen makes nice parts. |

Re: Ruger 10/22 magazines
After market Mags for 10/22s should have metal feed lips(?) I had a 30 rounder that wouldnd feed because the plastic lips were goofy.

Re: Ruger 10/22 magazines
My favorite bang for the buck 10/22 mags are the 30 round eagle mags from CDNN-investments. 4.99 each. Flawless mags, but the butlert creek crank loader doesn't work on them :(
For me the promag and ramline mags are crap. I've got two of them (will to trade for silver if you like them, lol), they are jam-o-matics in my 10/22. butler creeks work well and the loader is hard to beat. Must have 10/22 add ons for the thing to be worth a hoot: extended mag release, new bolt hold/release and while you are in there include a recoil 'buffer' = total cost for mods about 20 bucks. I like my Marlin 795 ALOT better than my 10/22, but there aren't any hicaps for the marlin or the extra cool folding stocks, lol. Marlin 795 is 110 bucks and runs like a top out of the box, no mods needed. 10/22 $225(and up) plus the cost of mods... we must be suckers for hi cap mags :confused_ma: |
Re: Ruger 10/22 magazines
